Arabic Language TranslationAccording to number of native speakers, Arabic ranks sixth among world's top languages. As the language of the Qur'an, the holy scripture of Islam, Arabic is widely used and studied by muslims all over the world. In addition to countries listed above, Arabic is an official language in: Comoros, Chad, Djibouti and Eritrea. Arabic may refer to literary Arabic, which is called Fus-ha in Arabic. Arabic may also refer to the many dialects spoken throughout the Arab world. Written language is fairly consistent throughout the Arab world and has changed very little over the centuries. It is the basis from which regional dialects are derived. Colloquial or dialectal Arabic refers to the regional dialects spoken in everyday language across the Middle East and North Africa. Classical Arabic is used nowadays in media including almost all written material such as books as well as television and radio. While Colloquial Arabic is used in informal spoken media such as chat shows and soaps. Arabic dialects are generally classified into the following groups: Almost all Arabs understand each other's dialect no matter how different the dialects are. The most obvious exception is the understanding of Moroccan dialect by non-Moroccans. Speakers usually revert to more formal type of speech similar to classical Arabic in order to overcome such difficulties.
